Mediterranean Festival Information

Mediterranean Festival Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 10! This year's Mediterranean Festival is from 11 am to 8:00 pm. For over 80 years, St. Mary Orthodox Christian Church has celebrated its Mediterranean heritage through public dinners and bake sales. At the Mediterranean Festival we offer the best of both! Taste authentic foods from Lebanon, Greece, and Serbia for lunch or dinner. Enjoy your food inside, outside, or take it to go. All items are a la carte, so bring your friends and try a little bit of everything!

Use our full-color menus with photos to choose your favorite foods. Our staff will take your order and help you with any questions you may have. You pay for everything at once, receive your food, and either head to a table inside or outside to the covered seating. If during your meal you would like to purchase more food, our wait staff is happy to place a new order for you. We accept cash, checks and credit cards. see menu →

New to our menu this year is a sampler plate, which offers a delicious assortment of items from our menu. The sampler plate includes a grilled chicken kabab, green beans and rice, hummus and pita, a stuffed grape leaf and stuffed cabbage roll, and a Greek cookie for dessert. Perfect for those who can't decide what to get!

Due to popular demand, we have added stuffed grape leaves back to our menu. Available as A La Carte, Carry Out or packaged in our Mediterranean Marketplace.

An old favorite from our days at the River Festival block parties, our baklawa sundaes combine the best of the dessert world: our famous baklawa, vanilla ice cream and chocolate. What's not to love? After many requests to add this to our Festival, we are excited to be offering it this year. Baklawa sundaes are only available outside.

Shop our Mediterranean Marketplace for a variety of pastries, breads, desserts and other items from Greece, Lebanon, Syria, Serbia, Russia, Romania, Egypt, and Ethiopia, along with your favorite traditional baked goods. We've got something for everyone, including samples of our rich Turkish coffee. Quantities are limited, so get your goodies fast!

Outdoor covered seating is available for you to enjoy your meal while listening to traditional music. Purchase our famous kafta and Lebanese chicken kabobs right off the grill! Desserts and drinks are also available for purchase. The full a la carte menu is available inside only.

Browse our bookstore for gifts, music, art and books on the Orthodox faith. A perfect place to shop for birthday, wedding and Christmas gifts.

Be sure to take a church tour and see the beautiful hand-painted Byzantine icons covering the walls of our sanctuary, and learn about their significance in Orthodox theology, as well as many other things about Eastern Christianity and the history of Christian church. Parishioners are available to answer questions and give tours.

We invite you to join us for evening prayers at 5:00 pm in the church. Experience this ancient service and the beautiful Byzantine chanting, icons, and scripture within the context of worship

In addition to the many parish humanitarian projects and ministries that our Festival supports, we also donate a portion of our proceeds to a local charity. This year we will support the Wichita Children's Home Opportunity Zone program. Funds from the Festival will go toward their TLC packs initiative, which provides food to homeless youth in Wichita. Nearly 2,100 youth came through the OZ program in 2013, and 52 different youths were served in just the first 50 days of 2014. We are excited to continue our partnership from last year with this wonderful program and thank you for helping us support this important cause. To learn more about Opportunity Zone, please visit

We look forward to seeing you!
